Carnival of Souls by Melissa Marr (Narrated by James Marsters)

While I shy away for supernatural stuff now, Marr's Wicked Lovely was one of the first supernatural books that completely captured me. That's what I expected this time around. Unfortunately, this one did not satisfy me as much. The plot was a little contradicting and Mallory's character was not strong or unique in any way. As happens with Marr, I ended up liking her secondary characters more. But ultimately, it's not a book that I will remember for long and the whole one species vs. another but she doesn't know she's really the other species, is a tad overdone. The narrator was very good though. Not sure if I'll read the next one... We'll see.

Ask the Passengers by A.S. King (Narrated by Devon Sorvari)

A very heartfelt, realistic novel that deals with a very discussed topic in a eye-opening way. I loved Astrid and her no-nonsense personality and her doubts. She was a very relatable character and that helped the plot come through. The audio version was very well narrated and the reader pulled you in even more.

Crown of Embers by Rae Carson (Narrated by R.E. Chambliss)

I love a great high fantay and while The Girl of Fire and Thorns did not provide that "LOVE" feeling, this sequel was ten times better. I think Carson really grew as a fantasy writer and it shows. The narrator did a fantastic job just like she did in book 1. But since the story was more intricate and satisfying and the romance was so happy-making, I ended up loving this audiobook more as well.
