Life is but a Dream by Brian James
Alec and Sabrina are crazy in love. Problem is: Sabrina’s really crazy.
Sabrina, an artist, is diagnosed with schizophrenia, and her parents check her into the Wellness Center. There she meets Alec, who is convinced it's the world that's crazy, not the two of them. They are meant to be together; they are special. But when Alec starts to convince Sabrina that her treatment will wipe out everything that makes her creative, she worries that she'll lose hold of her dreams and herself. Should she listen to her doctor? Her decision may have fatal consequences.
Finally! MY NAME on a book! As a main character! :) And she's crazy, that's ah, you know, er nice touch.
Release Date: March 27, 2012
OMGosh this sounds fantastic!!!! I'll be adding it to the list of ones that need to be read! Maybe I'll get a bunch of books off the list before it comes out :)

I've never read a book with the MC having schizophrenia, so that definitely sounds intriguing. Ohhh, and I noticed the release date is my birthday!! Thanks for sharing this one.
ReplyDeleteSounds very intense, good pick.

Ha and Sabrina has always been one of my favorite character and classic movies (Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart). The remake was OK too.
ReplyDeleteAnyway I am looking forward to reading this one and hope that it handles the subject matter well, as I am a bit concerned about that. Great pick!
Wow, this sounds awesome! (and potentially heart-wrenching, haha). Love the cover, too :)
ReplyDeleteOoh. This one sounds really intriguing. Very emotional too I bet. Great choice.

Oh my goodness. This sounds really good. Adding it to my list. Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteI guess the new cover trend is "half comatose girls on floor." New to me...thx!

Been hearing about this one a lot lately. I have never read a book with a character with schizophrenia and I really look forward to reading it. New follower. Check out my WoW:

Sounds perfectly creepy! LOVE IT! :D
ReplyDeleteGlad people are excited about it.
ReplyDeleteSidenote: the main character was originally named Sierra in my proposal, then somewhere in an email, my publisher referred to her accidently as Sabrina. When I started writing it, I realized I liked Sabrina better.
