ALA (1): Meeting People

So, long story short: I went to ALA. Lots of authors, lots of bloggers, lots of signings, lots of arcs. Yep, that pretty much sums it up. I am not cool enough to hang with authors, so most of them I just saw or said hi to or took a picture with. I chatted with some. And saw no one outside of the events because hubs and daughter came with me and sucked up all of my extra time between touring New Orleans and eating Po-Boys and beignets and NOT drinking. That is right, I do NOT drink. If you ever go to NOLA, don't drink. It is known to cause non-sleeping and zombie-like appearance at conferences. Moving on, pics:

  1. How exciting to have gone to ALA 2011 and meet so many amazing authors and bloggers! I am a librarian and I have yet to go to ALA haha--maybe next year I'll make it! Thanks for the post and pics :)

  2. That looks so much fun! You met a ton of cool authors, I can't wait to see the books you got. I wish there was a Canadian version...

  3. Wow looks like good times. I love making the rounds of all the publishers and authors meet and greets, plus all those great Arc's! looking forward to the list of books you scored.

  4. YOU MET SARAH DESSEN, JENNY HAN AND MAUREEN JOHNSON??!! Could I be any more jealous?! I think NOT! :D

  5. It was so fun hanging out! Hanging out with other bloggers was a definite highlight for me. :)

  6. I saw you at ALA several times but didn’t realize you were the blogger behind YA Bliss. I’m pretty sure I was in line behind you on more than one occasion. I really need to start up more conversations next time and leave my introverted side at home :)

So glad you had fun & met so many amazing authors. I’m still recovering from the craziness, but can’t wait to do it again!

  7. @Christie Awww, I wish we could have met! Maybe I saw you too.. Dont worry, I'm shy and tend not to go up to people too so I get it! :P Maybe we'll see each other at ALA Midwinter in Dallas? Or Austin Teen Book Fest in October? Let me know!

    *fan girl overload*

And dude, you were not lying, you are freakin' tanned!! I want to read more of this awesome time at ALA so post soon :) *puts on pretty smile in hopes of faster encouragement*
