Snow Like Ashes by Sarah Raasch (Narrated by Kate Rudd)

I'm a big high fantasy fan so any book that takes me to a far away kingdom is right up my alley. This one had innovative factors like the weather bits. Seasons have a lot to do with the worlds and different realms. Meira is an orphan and one of the Winterians that escaped. This book had a sort of surprise element that was sadly a bit predictable and kind of weighed down the whole story for me. But the originality of the world-building and the strength of Meira's voice was highly worth the read (or the listen I guess).

The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson (Narrated by Emily Rankin & Others)

I couldn't find any names besides Emily's for the narrators, but there are small parts of two male voices and one wise-sounding female voice who narrates passages. Emily (she used to go by Emily Janice Card) is my top favorite narrator ever, so I listen to anything she narrates. This was no exception. Also high fantasy, the story makes us travel deep within a kingdom into a world of princes, runaway princesses, and obviously, deceptions. I flew through this one even though it's long, because Emily's voice plus Pearson's voice together are utterly spellbinding. Loved it!

Falling into Place by Amy Zhang (Narrated by Julia Whelan)

A deeply moving story told by a mysterious voice that captivated me from the first chapter. A very fast read with small chapters tells the story of Liz Emerson who drove her car into a tree. Reminiscent of If I Stay because of the hospital scenes and Before I Fall because of the thought-provoking questions it raises, this was one of the books I enjoyed the most in 2014. The audio version was equally trapping as the book itself, highly mesmerizing.
