When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.
Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.
They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.
Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly
If this book grabs you, it will NOT let go. I was shamefully obsessed with this novel to the point of addiction. I couldn't manage to complete mundane tasks until this had not been finished. Slight warning: this is a very sexually explicit book.
Hoover alternates POVs as she's done in other books but this time one of the POVs (Miles') also goes back 6 years. In Tate's POV we know Miles has been through something terrible in his love life, while Miles' POV is teasing the reader throughout the whole story slowly building up to whatever it is happened. The teasing factor created in me a desperate I-need-to-know feeling that made me fly through the book, which was not as easy when you're listening to it in audio version. The audio is a little more than 9 hours, so I'm glad I had it on my phone so I could put my earphones on everywhere. I'm not even kidding... I listened to it as I commuted, exercised, grocery shopped, and even as I walked from place to place. I'm not sure if I'm proud to admit that, but I am sure that it means it's a damn good book. The readers were all incredible. Miles' voice was as dreamy as Tate describes it in the book.
It felt like two love stories in one book. One of them YA material and the other one a very detailed New Adult material. The sex scenes were for the most part, pretty incredible. It's one of the things that I like the most about Hoover's books, how she perfectly describes emotions and reactions of physical contact so flawlessly. This is the sexiest book I've encountered in a while, without it being too much or reaching a flinch-worthy point. I really enjoyed the characters and Miles was oh, so incredibly sexy and fragile and stubborn which oddly adds up swoon levels. Also, best ending ever.
If you love romantic books, you need to start reading your way through Colleen Hoover's books now!
