Top Ten Series I Will Not Finish

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and Bookish.

When I sat down to write this post, I thought I wouldn't have enough to fill up ten... *cackles*. Silly me. As I went through Goodreads, I wrote them all down. Lets just say I have enough for 4 posts which honestly has me a little sad because most are just procrastination. I decided to feature the ones I either didn't like or flat-out hated and won't finish, because they almost never get mentioned here.

1. This spot goes to a book that I hate so much I won't even name it. I will never-ever finish that awful ghost series.

2. The Immortal series (Evermore) by Alyson Noel.

3. Halo series by Alexandra Adornetto.

4. Matched series by Ally Condie. Really liked book one, *bleep* book two. Will not finish.

5. The Dark Divine series by Bree Despain.

6. Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick.

7. Fallen series by Lauren Kate.

8. Sky Chasers series (Glow) by Amy Kathleen Ryan.

9. Strange Angels by Lili St.Crow.

10. The Maze Runner series by James Dashner. This is the one that pisses me off the most. Why? Because The Maze Runner is one of my favorite books. It's brilliant. I wish it had never been a series. Book 2 was terrible so I wont read book 3.

This list made me understand even more why I'm wary of paranormal books.

  1. Agree with some of the choices. But really curious about number one.

  2. That's so funny that you didn't like The Scorch Trials; I like it the best of the three! Also, the Hush, Hush series is a guilty pleasure of mine, but I've only read the first two. I'll have to get to number three soon :)

  3. I agree on Hush Hush! I mean, there are times when I think I might finish the rest of the series because of those beautiful covers, but then again...I really didn't like the story.. :(

  4. HOW can you do that to me? I'm one of those people who die when someone doesn't finish a sentence and you are going to put a #1 and NOT NAME IT *faceplant* hehe
Only series off your list I've read is Matched and I haven't gotten to Crossed yet, but I'm scared to now! I have several of them though.

  7. Hmm now I'm curious as to what ghost series you are talking about. I have some of these books on my list and some that didn't make it to my list but should still be on it. I give up on series easily.

  8. Mached made my list as well but only because I haven't had a chance to read Crossed ;) I am really curious about your #1, the only ghost books I know of are Anna & Whispering Hills by Taryn Browning?

  9. I MUST KNOW WHAT #1 IS!!? I haven't read book 2 in the Matched series and now I'm pretty scared to...I feel the same way about The Maze Runner books. :(

  10. I haven't read any of these except for Book 1 of the Matched series and I don't plan to read Book 2 or 3. None of the other series on your list are on my TBR. Am curious about your top choice!

  13. Alright, so I really want to know which book your first pick is.. Some of those series are actually on my to be read list, so I'm kind of sad now :') hahaha. At least I know that I must be careful.

A least we have Fallen in common :p

    My top 10 Tuesday.

  14. Maze runner number one was good. I felt really let down by the second in that series. Don't feel bad about having so many series trails...it just means your discerning. p.s. Hush Hush was awful and I really struggle to respect the opinion of people who love it as anything but a guilty pleasure.

  15. I haven't read most of these books. But I can definitely agree with you, that I WILL NOT be finishing The Immortal Series. Nor the Fallen series. And although I have never read The Maze Runner, I totally get what you have to say. You want to say to these authors that stand alone novels are great! Everything doesn't need to be a series.

  16. Ha1 I wonder what choice #1 is, lol.

We have quite a few matching series we haven't finished.

I agree with #4 - book 1 was ok and book 2, just couldnt get into it and stop reading it. It was a mess.

  17. Fallen and Immortals are both on my list. My cousin has been really urging me to read Hush, Hush, but I have seen it on so many lists today, it is questionable now. Here is my TTT: http://whatsontheshelf.wordpress.com/2012/09/25/top-ten-tuesday-23/

  18. Paranormals are definitely tricky books... it seems like theyre either great or crap. They do have cool covers though most of the time. and I think everyone wants to know what #1 is :)

  19. I've only read the Fallen series from your list.

However, I bet Hereafter is the book you can't name. I've noticed that book either people really love or really hate. There's no in between. Haven't read it myself, but it makes me curious what side I would fall on.

  20. I haven't read Crossed yet :/ I must agree that I'm curious of book one. Some of these are series I haven't started yet, but now I wonder if it's worth it. Thanks for sharing!

  21. I fell for HUSH, HUSH's beautiful cover. You'd think I'd know better by now, but no, apparently not.
