Top Ten YA Movies of the 90's

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and Bookish.

Okay, want some classic YA on screen? These are some top masterpieces that populated my VHS collection during my MG/YA years. Some are based on books and the rest should be YA books! Seriously.

1. My Favorite movie, Empire Records.

2. Camp Nowhere (Your own summer camp? This was my fantasy for years!)

3. Clueless (I can pretty much recite the entire script.)

4. Now and Then

5. Babysitter's Club

6. Trojan War

7. Can't Hardly Wait

8. Wild America (90's eye candy!)

9. Hackers

10. Big (I still want that stupid piano!)

  1. I can recite clueless too! I think I still have it on VHS somewhere lol. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

  2. Clueless!! I was definitely sporting thigh highs and a pen with a pouffy thing on top for a few years!!! We must be similiar in age cause I loved all these movies too!!

  3. My sisters loves Babysitter's Club. Isn't that the movie with Brenda and the girl who sings the babysitting blues? I remember something like that. Now I want to watch it again.

  4. I love this post so much!!! I love 80's and 90's movies!! Empire Records is classic!!!!

  5. And that should be sister. ;)

  6. YES to Can't Hardly Wait. That is one I could recite. I'm pretty sure I have the VHS I taped from TV in my attic somewhere. I was also a huge fan of She's All That and Down to You. I guess I had a thing for Freddy... ::dies of embarrassment::

  7. Babysitter's Club and Clueless. I wish I still had had those!

  8. Well, since Clueless is based on Emma by Jane Austen I guess your dream is halfway true! :) Great list and so many that could/should be YA books! :)

  9. Sab, in NY they have the piano at FAO toy store!!!

  10. LOVE Now and Then. Just watched it not too long ago :)

  11. Clueless and Big- amazing choices! I loved Sweet Valley High, they should make a film of that! :D
