Top Ten Books I'd Recommend As Good Beach Reads

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and Bookish.

I'm a beach person. I grew up on a season-less coast and went to the beach every weekend. I'm still trying to get used to the fact that I can only go during the summer here in the States, but I still go every weekend when it's summer. So reading beach-y summer stories is one of my favorite things to do while tanning. Here are some books that feature a beach in one way or another.

1, 2 & 3. Jenny Han's Summer Series, of course. Beach-y MUST reads.

4. The Day Before by Lisa Schroeder.
This is an intensely beautiful story told entirely in one day.

5. Invincible Summer by Hannah Moskowitz.
Don't be fooled by the cover, this is a raw powerful book, not a fluffy read by any means. But it's mind-blowingly awesome and it takes place across various beach-y summers.

6. Moonglass by Jessi Kirby.
The setting is perfection!

7. Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler.
Emotional and sweet, perfect beach book.

8. Unbreak My Heart by Melissa Walker.
This one is more like sailing than beachy, but I loved it.

9. Forget You by Jennifer Echols.
This is by no means my favorite Echols book, and the protagonist really annoyed me, but it's still HOT and very summery.

10. Along For the Ride by Sarah Dessen.
It's Dessen, so it's good.

  1. A coincidence that we had 5 of the same titles? I think not. They really do epitomize beach reads. I seriously love Forget You (though I think because it was so sexy and not necessarily because of the protagonist, as you said).

I really need to get to Unbreak My Heart already. Maybe I'll read it on that yacht I never had. ;)

  5. Apparently, I really need to get my Sarah Dessens read on. I haven't read any of her books! I may be ostracized now. :P

  6. I really need to read Along for the Ride, it's on everyone's list. Of course, I've only read two books out of your whole list, so I need to get on it!

  7. I recently read The Day Before and loved it. I just finished the first two books by Jenny Han and I'm on hold for the third at the library. Your suggestions are great. Please keep them coming.

  8. You need to add On The Line by Jackie Bardenwerper to this list! It's a perfect summer read.
