A love out of time. A spaceship built of secrets and murder. Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.
Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was no mere computer malfunction. Someone-one of the few thousand inhabitants of the spaceship-tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn't do something soon, her parents will be next.
Now Amy must race to unlock Godspeed's hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder suspects, there's only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of the ship and the love she could never have seen coming.

This book has the most breathtakingly gripping first chapter in the history of books. After only a couple of pages I was debating between reading with the tightness on my chest or put the book down and breathe. I had to put it down after the first chapter, it was that good. And the ending... wow.

I loved Beth Revis' writing and plot development. Even though it got a little slow for me around the middle, the beginning and ending were so strong that it more than made up for it. It was a little confusing at first, placing yourself inside Godspeed, I mean. But once you get a hold of it, its magical. The characters were strong and flawed like any character should be.

A tale about loneliness and survival... a story about creating new hope when all hope has faded... a heartfelt novel in which we discover true leadership and reevaluate the things we take for granted. A Sci-Fi Futiristic adventure that readers will enjoy for generations. Believe me, this is one of the 2011 debuts you dont want to miss.

  1. I was a bit curious about this one. Now I'm way curious. I don't come across many YA SciFi books, but this looks like a good one. =)

  5. I actually started this and put it down planning on picking it up again when I had a whole day to devote. I found the beginning interesting but not as compelling as I had hope, still I plan on giving this another read soon. Thanks for the review!
