Evie’s always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours.
But Evie’s about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.
So much for normal.

Very rarely do I find myself giggling with a paranormal book. Regularly, it's all about the drama and the romance. Not this time, though. Paranormalcy brings a fresh new approach to the YA paranormal literary world. Kiersten White grabs every supernatural creature you can possibly imagine, and mixes them together, creating a fully-original experience for young readers. Plus, she makes it fun, light and deliciously sexy.

I was awed and utterly loved the concept of the male lead, Lend. I kept trying to picture him as he is, and was fully enthralled in their super sexy kiss scenes. He was my favorite part of the book, even though as a character he was just okay, the concept was brilliant. As cliched as it may be, I melted with the issue that nobody truly saw him, until he found Evie. And then I melted some more when she heard his voice. You'll see.

Overall, White manages to mix a lot of interesting issues and details within her witty urban fantasy debut. Fast-paced plot, a sassy pink-loving heroine, a swoon-worthy see-through boy, family and self-esteem issues and some laugh-out-loud instances make this a must-read for the fall.

Who wants to be normal anyway, right?

  1. Most overrated book ever. Sure, it was funny in a few places...but is it REALLY worth *ALL* of these 4 and mainly 5 star reviews? It just seems like people are really riding the wave of hype. I respect that you may have loved it which is great, we're supposed to love books, but I just don't get how EVERYONE seems to just love this book. It wasn't even that strong of a book! It's like Bleeding Violet and Strange Angels combined! Amd those 2 books didn't get good ratings!

  2. I have this, but haven't read it yet! It's next on my list.

  3. I can't wait to read this. I love the sound of all types of supernatural creatures mixed together, and Lend sounds rather swoonworthy. If my copy ever arrives from the US, I'll let you know what I think ;)

  4. Okay, I've got to read this. I've been hearing lotsa good things! The MC sounds entertaining, too. And ooh, the male lead has already captured my interest! Hehe.

  5. I've seen a lot of reviews like yours. It seems this book really does have a fresh look on things - I'm excited to read it!

  6. Anonymous's comment was interesting and a worthwhile reminder that even though a book can get a lot of great reviews, it doesn't mean that everyone will like it. I sure hope it lives up to expectations though, because I've ordered it.

Everyone who's read Lethal Inheritance loves it, or so they've told me, but that doesn't mean that everyone will. Have you checked out ch 1 on my blog yet?
