Audio-Books

I have no idea how many of you listen to books, but I'm a big fan. If you love to read, try them! I was asking for some recommendations in my last IMM and Casey sujested I should share the ones I know of. I just started listening to them a few months ago and these are the ones I've listened and loved:

09 Titles:
  • The Forrest of Hands & Teeth by Carrie Ryan
  • If I Stay by Gayle Forman
  • Willow by Julia Hoban
Other Titles:
  • Just Listen by Sarah Dessen
  • Dreamland by Sarah Dessen
  • The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen
  • The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau
  • The People of Sparks by Jeanne DuPrau
  • Elsewhere by Gabrille Zevin
In my TBL (listened)- currently available in audio-book:
  • 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher (currently listening)
  • Fat Cat by Robin Brande (09 title)
  • Tantialize by Cynthia Leitich Smith
  • Eternal by Cynthia Leitich Smith (09 title)
  • This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen
I also picked up the Uglies series by Scott Westerfield, but I think the reader was awful, I couldn't stand to listen. I recommend you rather read those.
Please if you like audio-books and know of recent titles available leave recommendations in the comments or email me!

  1. Oh I love audio books! I don't think any are really recent but I enjoyed them all.
Enthusiasm by Polly Shulman was really good. The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart was great. Um, Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnson was good.
I've listened to a lot of series this year. I don't know if you like those are not.

  2. I love listening to audio books, because you can read while you're doing something else (like dishes, or chores!).
I like all of the Louise Rennison audio books. They's hilarious.
I liked Pants of Fire by Meg Cabot.
Right now I'm listening to Intertwined by Gena Showalter. I like it, even though I wasn't expecting the narrator to be a girl.

  3. I love listening to audiobooks! The reader of Uglies is pretty awful, but once I listened to all four I started to like her voice. I think Jim Dale who narrates the Harry Potter books is the best ever! I listen to the Twilight saga, Mediator series, and several others on audiobook too.

  4. Thanks for sharing these! I love listening to audio books, especially when I have to drive for awhile or while I'm doing chores or something. I've tried listening to a few and they're voice was awful.

I agree with Addicted Book Reader - the guy narrating Harry Potter was one of the best I've heard.

  5. As long as what you're loooking is in the public domain, then I'd suggest checking out Librivox. If it's not in the public domain, their not going to have it.
