The Awakening - Kelley Armstrong

Darkest Powers - Book 2

*Spoilers* Don't read this if you haven't read the Summoning.

If you had met me a few weeks ago, you probably would have described me as an average teenage girl—someone normal. Now my life has changed forever and I’m as far away from normal as it gets. I'm a living science experiment—not only can I see ghosts, but I can raise the dead without even trying. Trust me, that is not a power you want to have. Ever. I’m running for my life with three of my supernatural friends and we have to find someone who can help us gain our freedom back before the Edison Group finds us first. Or die trying.

Wow! This was good! Let me start by saying Derek is an exceptionally well thought character. I absolutely love his relationship with Chloe - even though not everybody would agree with me- but he steals the story away..

The suspense is awesome. There were parts were I literally felt tired like if I was running with them. The writing is obviously exceptional, the cover is really appealing and the story is so refreshingly thrilling that you don't even notice until the end that the whole book takes place in about a day or two.

I liked it better than the first one -tends to work that way for me since I like knowing the scenario that I'm getting into- because it has much more suspense and supernatural notes to it. Can't wait for the third one!!

NOTE: you can read the first TEN chapters here.
